When:
Mother's Day Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, May 10-11, 2008.
Doors open Saturday at 10 a.m. with music beginning at 11:30 a.m.
On Sunday gates open at 9:30 with an 11 a.m. worship service kicking off Sunday's festivities.
Both days will finish by sundown.
Where:
The Monterey County Fairgrounds in Monterey, California (also home to the famous Monterey Jazz Festival and Monterey Blues Festival). The beautiful 20-acre, forested setting features a world-class performance arena, facilities including first-aid, and a variety of food and merchandise vendors.
The Festival Benefits Two Important Causes
A portion of proceeds from the festival goes to benefit two important charities. The Take A Stand for HIV, Hepatitis-C & AIDS Crusade provides monetary assistance for education and research in Africa and the United States. The other beneficiary, Let's Seal The Crack, provides educational scholarships to area youths with GPAs that typically do not qualify them for most traditional educational assistance programs.

Food & Beverages and Rules at the Fairground
There is a wide variety of food and beverages available for purchase at the Monterey Gospel Festival. As the State of California and the County of Monterey, food, glass and containerized beverages cannot be brought onto the fairgrounds with the exception of un-opened plastic bottled water no picnic baskets, coolers or barbeques are allowed.
No alcohol may be brought onto the Fairgrounds. Alcohol and containers will be disposed of at the entrance gates and not returned. Every person who enters the Fairgrounds is subject to search by authorities. A complete list of fairgrounds rules can be found at www.montereycountyfair.com.
