History
Biographical Summary
The Monterey Ministerial Alliance(MMA), the California Black Chamber of Commerce Foundation(CBCCF) and a host of churches have united on the Monterey Peninsula to provide monetary assistance for educational research for Hepatitus "C" and HIV/AIDS in the United States and Africa. After many prayers and much planning the inception of the first Annual Gospel Festival was conceived.
The popularity of Gospel music has continued to climb the charts in the music world. Gospel music is the purest form of music that transcends and unites all races, cultures, and religions. It inspires, motivates, and entertains people all over the world.
The Monterey Peninsula is the home to the renowned Internations Jazz and Blues Festivals. We plan to share the same venues and stages that are located on the Monterey Peninsula at the Monterey County Fairgrounds. The Gospel will be held the 10th and 11th of May. Your help and assistance is needed to make this event a success.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Respectfully,
Monterey Gospelfest Committee

YEAR ONE WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!
Our first year, 2007, was a great success, drawing over 5000 Gospel music fans for the two-day event, placing the festival alongside the Monterey Jazz Festival and the Monterey Blues Festival as the peninsula's premier music attractions. Nationally-celebrated artists Martha Munizzi and Vickie Winans headlined the festival along with a dozen other national, regional and local artists. The county's leading newspapers, the Monterey County Herald and Monterey County Weekly, both gave the festival great reviews. And when 2007 festival attendees were asking us when the next one was going to be - before the first one was even over - we knew we had served the Gospel-community well!
